Dark Web Investigations

Dark web investigations training provides law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and skills required to conduct secure and effective investigations. Participants will explore the dark web's structure, how the dark web is accessed, and its role in facilitating criminal activities such as human trafficking, counterfeit products, and illicit drug sales. This intermediate-to-advanced class will focus on tools and methods for safely navigating dark net markets and channels, understanding dark web platforms like Tor and Tails, and preserve the anonymity of investigators.

Prerequisite
Participants should have a comprehensive understanding of online investigations and OSINT. Concepts of data privacy and protection require a basic understanding of downloading and employing secure applications. Familiarity with command line interface tools is helpful. Previous experience with the Dark Web or cybersecurity investigations is beneficial but not required.
