During this 8-week virtual course, students will complete a comprehensive open-source data analysis project.
Course Learning Objectives:
OSINT Fundamentals: Explore the role of OSINT in intelligence and decision-making.
Data Collection: Learn methods for gathering and organizing data from open-source platforms.
Data Analysis: Apply foundational data science techniques to uncover patterns.
Visualization: Use accessible tools to present data-driven insights.
Ethics: Understand and adhere to legal and ethical standards.
Storytelling: Deliver actionable insights through professional reports and presentations.
Students will receive lectures, reading materials and assignments each week. The course will conclude with a final capstone project that builds on the 8 weeks of lessons and projects.
This course uses
Murach’s Python for Data Analysis as the foundation for the materials presented.
Primary Tools: Anaconda Distribution/JupyterLab, Tableau/PowerBI.
Optional Resources: ChatGPT for generative AI tutorials.
